Major Important Muscles Of Human Body

The deltoid muscle also known as the common shoulder muscle is the muscle, which forms the rounded contour of the shoulder and weighs around 191 grams approximately. It is also known as “Farmers walk muscle.”Its main function is abduction of arm, the common injury related to deltoid is known as “rotator cuff injury.”

The triceps is present at the back of the upper limb, which is responsible for extension and fixation of the elbow joint during fine movements (eg.writing), the triceps reflex is tested to assess the function of C6 & C7 spinal nerves.

The Soleus is a muscle, which is located in upper posterior compartment of the leg. It mainly helps in plantar function.
Along with other calf muscles, it helps in pumping the venous blood to heart from all peripheral tissues. Since it does the similar pumping function as of Heart, it is called as “Peripheral Heart”
 

The gluteal muscles are group of three muscles that form buttock area. This muscle is mainly involved in hip joint movements.
